# Spot

StableStock lets you buy and sell stocks directly from your account, using USDT or USDC.

When you place a buy order, your stablecoins are used to purchase the shares, which are held in custody and credited to your account. You can sell while the market is open, and the proceeds are returned to your available balance in USDT or USDC.

Coverage is expanding over time — StableStock is progressively adding support for more stock markets, and the range of stocks available to trade will continue to grow.

Shares you hold can optionally be tokenized into sTokens (for example, AAPL → sAAPL). See [sTokens](/ss/concepts/stokens.md) for details.
